Interesting stat…

Thought I would share an interesting statistic with you; there were 61,000 scores submitted for 12.1... when it was all over just five weeks later only about half (32,877) of the athletes finished. This makes it clear that "showing-up" really is the hardest part of CrossFit!

The workout that made me fall in love with CrossFit…

Death by Barbell was the first WOD I did at LaLanne Fitness, every year I get excited to participate, it's the workout that made me fall in love with CrossFit. This year was unexpectedly special, I have been a member here for the past 2 years and am a truly grateful student. At this gym I have made friends, been given the opportunity to give back and prove to myself that I can over come difficult tasks in life...

Every so often when I feel a little defeated by life my father reminds me of a Japanese proverb "Fall seven times, stand up eight." CrossFit has proved to me that I can do just that, I can over come situations in life which I used to find baffling. My father started this lesson and CrossFit helped me understand it. Today I've never been so proud to be my fathers daughter. Strong fathers, raise strong daughters. My thoughts as I finished DBB were that I love my dad so much, and I am so blessed to have such a encouraging, supportive, bad ass for a father.
