I'll never forget the first time Gareth said, "C'mon, mate!" as we started a jog around the block. I was so grateful to be acknowledged. The beast-mode guys have welcomed me as a fellow traveler learning complicated skills; the women (especially Ty and Nat and Sarah) have pushed me to achievements that seemed out of my reach, like my very first unaided pull-ups and a body-weight bench press. Now I get to be a part of the welcoming committee for new members; I can't wait to show you what you can accomplish if you train with us.

Got something I want and need to say. We are extremely lucky to have such a great team of Coaches at LLF. While they each have very different styles, every one of them, without exception, wants one thing: to help us be the best athletes we can be. This extends well beyond the class structure or their job description...

I have picked up so many skills and so much knowledge from all of them and I am extremely grateful! Almost two years into my Crossfit journey, even I am surprised by how far I have come and how engaged I remain. I can say, without hesitation, so much of that has to do with the stellar Coaching I receive every single time I enter the Box. I thank them for pushing me when it is necessary, praising when appropriate, holding me to high standards, sharing so much of themselves, taking me out of my comfort zone, not putting up with my crap and helping me become the athlete I never imagined I could be. So, keep yourself open and utilize the incredible talent we are so lucky to have access to. Trust me, you will not be sorry!

Weighted Push-ups, Pull-Ups and Sit-Ups are three of the most basic movements in our strength and conditioning program. Typically, we work with a low repetition count from 5, 3 or down to 1 rep max! This move is easy to do at home...

Have someone place a weighted object on your back: 1. Start in a plank position with a tight mid-section, chin-up (see below). 2. Slowly bring your chest down to the floor 3. Push-up to the start while maintaining a rigid body! TONY says..."It felt like having 2 girls on my back" (see pic below taken 10/30/09)...
