Zack Toney

"Get some."
Zack found his love for sports at the age of five when he joined his first soccer team and has continued to challenge his fitness levels as an adult by practicing martial arts. With backgrounds in Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Krav Maga, he has learned how important core strength, balance, and flexibility are to achieving maximum power and the ability to control the body in all three planes of motion. He is passionate about CrossFit and thinks of the body’s kinetic chain as the foundation of a house. You can build the house with a weak foundation and it might last a couple years, but eventually it will not be able to withstand the elements of nature and crumble to the ground.

LaLanne Fitness image

Zack really takes the time to focus on building a strong and healthy foundation by targeting the weak joints, muscle imbalances, and limited range of motion that his client’s might possess. Many of his client’s have praised him for making their lower back pain go away, adding distance to their golf game, and over all body conditioning. Zack has held a career in the technology field, but quite a few people had come to him for advice on nutrition, exercise technique, and weight loss. This lead Zack to pursue his passion of fitness and he obtained his certification from The National Academy of Sports Medicine. He has excelled in the fitness industry with his ability to motivate, patience to work with all personality types, and the knowledge to make sure his client’s train in a safe, but results driven manner. Zack has worked with all types of people including goal driven athletes, fitness minded individuals, and baby boomers who want to keep up with their grandkids!

Sarah Veress

"Every workout is an opportunity to improve. Always strive to reach your potential!"
Sarah has always been serious about sports. She grew up playing soccer in Colorado and transitioned to jumping and hurdling on the track team in high school. She was recruited to Stanford as a triple and long jumper but halfway through her first year was converted to the hammer throw. By the time she graduated she held the school record and was honored as an All-American. Following her graduation from Stanford, she spent two years as a volunteer assistant throws coach while continuing to train. She finished her hammer career in third place at the 2008 Olympic Trials with a personal best throw of 68.60m. Following the Trials, Sarah spent a year running in the forests of Fontainebleau, France, and reflecting on what she could next focus her athletic energies.

LaLanne Fitness image

After returning to San Francisco she found CrossFit and is now deeply committed to sharing the sport with as many people as possible due to the results she’s seen in herself and others. She’s never found anything more effective at training the full body to be strong and lean simultaneously and she enjoys passing on the great coaching she’s received throughout the years.

Will Sokolov

"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."
Will is a native San Franciscan who has been competing athletically since he was four years old. As a child, soccer and baseball occupied much of his time until soccer became his main focus and allowed him to travel the world playing. When first introduced to CrossFit he was rudely awakened to discover that his soccer training had only increased his metabolic conditioning and not much else. It wasn't until he found CrossFit that his athletic skill and capacity was truly tested. Since then he has worked to address the 10 aspects of fitness
while emphasizing form both in his own workouts and his students.

LaLanne Fitness image

Outside of the gym you can find Will at SF State’s business school where he is a marketing major or in the kitchen honing his culinary skills. In July he will attend the CrossFit Kids Certification and hopes to also attend certifications for Gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, Endurance, and Rowing.

Ty Texidor

"A stronger body is just the beginning."-Ty
I chose a Sports Medicine/Athletic Training major when an ankle injury sustained senior year in high school threatened my season. The doctor told me I would be out for 6 weeks. I went to the Certified Athletic Trainer and through structured rehabilitation and proper use of modalities, was back on the court in 1 week. I knew then and there what I wanted to learn. I started working in the sports medicine field in 1999. I have been fortunate enough to work as Head Athletic Trainer for a championship high school in the Miami area, at the collegiate level and was able to gain some experience overseas. I made the easy transition to personal training in 2003 and have since made it my career. I was able to take my rehabilitation and sports specific knowledge and apply it to the gym giving clients not only what they want but also what they need.

LaLanne Fitness image

In starting crossfit in February of '09 I found the perfect compliment to my training style. I saw my mind and body transform in no time at all. The competitive atmosphere made me want to succeed and I have never looked back. I am looking forward to combining all that I have learned so that we can develop stronger, leaner, faster, better athletes every day WOD by WOD.
