I'm back - haven't posted since Saturday- but been making pretty good eating decisions since then. Instead of re-capping everything- making a commitment to blog every day again. My family came into town last night (from AZ & DC) and we are heading up to Tahoe Thursday night through Tuesday - gave my dad the Paleo food list for his Costco run and made everyone aware that I was sticking to this diet during this vacation...

Have a bag packed of Paleo friendly food for work today - still feeling great!

Chicago 'Paleo style' was a success!!! My girlfriend is a vegan so it was interesting combining our two eating styles- but we did it! Indulged in wine a few nights and a few bites of a dessert on Saturday night, but my OE eggs and banana in the mornings, chicken stir fry (no rice) and large salad with grilled chicken as lunch choices, along with tapas (scallops, eggplant, tuna) and fish for dinner made for an excellent (and delicious) vacation.

Got back into SF around 7pm tonight and made Trader Joes my first stop. Fridge is stocked with tons of fruits, veggies, and protein and I'm ready for another successful week!

Day #4 (7/14) of traveling for work went well. Today's (7/15) challenge with be the airport food as I head to Chicago for the weekend to visit a girlfriend.. One day at a time- deep dish pizzas might need to be my full cheat day (going to attempt it in heavy moderation though...)

Breakfast-
2 OE eggs
Starbucks (go to at this point) protein pack minus the muffin.

Snack-
banana

Lunch-
Large salad with chicken and tons of veggies.

Snack -
almonds

Dinner- went out to dinner with friends that live in Portland. Proclaimed before we ordered that I was on a Paleo diet and lucky me one of the people I was with is a fellow cross-fitter and knows all about paleo! We shared a bunch of Tapas and telling them of my eating restrictions prior to dinner helped me a ton to stay on track.
- avocado with crab meat
- ceviche
- scallops (had a bite of the mashed potatoes on the plate and left the rest alone!)
- 2 1/2 glasses of red wine.

Weekend Paleo eating went really well! Outside of some alcohol and oatmeal this morning (best choice of everything I had in my apt before working out...) I'm feeling really good and finding it easy to stay on this eating plan. I am already noticing my body changing and it feels really good.

Traveling to Portland for work this week and Chicago for the weekend - so the next 7 days are going to be a challenge..but I'm committed to writing in this log every day - here's to week #2!

Alright- I've committed to write down what I eat for the next 30 days..starting today. This morning while I was eating a bagel and cream cheese in the car on a road trip back to the SF- it finally hit me that to get the results I want to see, I need to start being accountable for what I eat.

Eating decisions prior to my realization: bagel and creem cheese, banana, fiber one bar

Eating decisions after I decided to get my act together: big salad around 3pm with chicken and tons of veggies (with a fat free balsamic vinaigrette). Apple for a snack and dinner will be a salmon burger patty with stir fried veggies.

Excited to see how these results turn out. It's on!
