8am smoked salmon, cashews, grapes, kombucha

1:30pm salad w/ pistachio chicken, avocado, oil & vinegar, apple w/ cashew butter

4pm a few cashews, herbal tea

7pm roasted sweet potato (snacked on grapes while cooking)

8pm 3 dates w/ cashew butter, herbal tea

water: i suck at this, maybe 50oz
sleep: 7 hrs

(8ish mile run)

10am small scoop of yogurt w/ gluten free granola, small piece of smoked salmon, apple (at a breakfast meeting for run group, not much to choose from....)

12pm chicken sausage, sauteed spinach and leeks, pistachios, grapes

3:30pm 2 dates w/ cashew butter, pistachios, kombucha

7pm roasted broccoli, romanesco, turnips w/ balsamic vinegar and oil

8pm 1 oz. dark chocolate

5:30am lara bar, coffee black

24 mile trail run w/ 1.5 Gus (yes, sugar but needed for this kind of thing)

10am lara bar, lots of water

11:30am chicken sausage, sauteed spinach and leeks, handful of pistachios

3pm kombucha, grapes, pistachios, a couple of corn tortilla chips (super hungry still from that run)

5pm 1/2 cliff bar (def not paleo from what I can gather in the 15 ingredients), coffee black

7pm lamb gyro meat, greek salad w/o cheese, marinated octopus salad w/ greens olive oil, vinegar

sleep: 6 hrs
water: not enough

for the record, this accountability thing works. I was starving after my run and wanted something cheese and carb-y. I kept thinking that I didn't want to have to write that I cheated with my post run meal so I made something appropriate and really good!

predominately giving up sugar, wheat and dairy, going to keep gluten-free grains around sparingly.

9am gluten-free oatmeal w/ raisins (after a 12 mile, 2k ft trail run I ate what was in my apt, need to be better prepared), coffee black

12pm cobb salad w/ chicken, cucumbers, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, balsamic vinegrette

4:30pm kombucha, pistachios

7pm roasted delicata squash, 1 chicken sausage, apple w/ cashew butter

not enough water...still working on it

also back on it...joining the girls for paleo 2012. I did find out that I have food sensitivities to eggs (sucks), almonds (really sucks), and wheat (kind of happy about this, just another reason not to eat it) among other things. basically, everything except meat...funny, don't think I know anyone who is allergic to meat.

9pm quinoa w/ roasted veggies, marinated cucumbers, 2 gl red wine, 3 pieces of dark chocolate (at a vegan friend's house for dinner.....)

Day 10, July 20th

6am coffee black, some almonds

8:30am banana w/ almond butter

10:30am almonds

2:30pm larabar, coconut water

3:30pm smoked salmon, almonds, grapes

8pm coconut water, strawberries

8:30pm roasted potatoes w/ basil, sauteed chard w/ onions, one fried egg

8am CHEAT, but it was Tartine bread...I tried to say no, but my friend who is a baker there brought it to Tahoe right after it was baked and it still smelled like it came out of the oven. had it toasted with some almond butter

10am larabar before 1700 ft hike

12pm more Tartine bread, rotisserie chicken and mustard, kombucha

4pm almonds, Trio bar

6pm rotisserie chicken, salad

9pm coffee, beer, almonds

10:30pm kombucha, grapes


Day 7, July 17th

12am more almonds (I need to find another snack!)

I was up for 24+ hours crewing for my friend at Tahoe Rim 100 so lots of snacking...

11am almonds, grapes, kombucha, coffee black

3pm Cobb salad: chicken, bacon, tomatoes, avocado, balsamic viniagrette

8am handful of almonds

9am 2 hardboiled eggs, grapefruit

11am kombucha (Paleo? I know it has probiotics and fruit juice, there was some 'love' in the ingredients but assuming that's okay...), some grapes

2:30pm leftover chicken, steamed broccoli, grapes

4pm almonds

6:30pm Larabar

9pm salad w/ last of the chicken (2 breasts lasted 4 meals), radishes, artichoke hearts, olives, lemon dressing
1/2 cantelope for desser

>100oz of water and still feeling really thirsty (probably the double workouts today)

averaging about 6.5hrs of sleep this week and definitely won't be getting that much this weekend at the third 100 mile event I will be attending this summer....

2pm 1/2 chicken breast pan fried in coconut oil, steamed broccoli w/ olive oil & lemon

4pm almonds, grapes

8:30pm leftover chicken, steamed broccoli, grapefruit for dessert

not as much water as I would have liked especially with the run I did

P.S. This is so much easier than when I was a vegan by choice, in terms of what you can/can't eat. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
