August 8th--
breakfast--yogurt and banana
lunch--salad w tuna, veggies, balsamic dressing.
snack--zone bar
dinner--ravioli w white sauce. 2 pieces bread. red wine.
end of the 30 day paleo challenge. missed the meeting last night. outcome: did keep a food log for 4 weeks. some better eating but by no means strict enough. I think I lost a couple of pounds and then gained them back. will work to maintain the food log habit.

not a good food weekend.
August 6th--
breakfast--yogurt, blueberries
lunch--sandwich w cotto salami and 1 piece gouda cheese. veggie crisps
dinner--cheese enchiladas w sour cream. white wine.
August 7th--
breakfast--yogurt, pineapple.
lunch--tomato soup and saltine crackers.
dinner--salad with strawberries, feta cheese. white wine. jello sugar free chocolate pudding.

lunch at Slanted Door--very tasty and pretty paleo other than the rice--tuna tartare; bok choy; imperial roll; shakin' beef; claypot catfish; broken rice.
dinner--chicken dinner from Chef by Request. small amount of red wine. two pieces of bread w margarine.

zone bar, no dinner to speak of. ate some crackers after ballgame (Giants lost, dismal)/

Aug 4th--
banana. scrambled eggs, 1 piece of sausage, 1 piece of bacon.

weird long day with Dick having surgery. made poor food choices.

July 25 - Day 15
Breakfast--yogurt w strawberry, peach
Lunch--8 pieces california roll sushi, diet coke. water.
Snack--work mate made cookies after we had harassed him for several weeks to do so. of course I had to eat a couple.
Dinner--salad. turkey dinner from Chef by Request. 1 piece bread w margarine. water.
not perfect but not terrible. no wine anyway.
weighed in for work weight loss challenge. 175.7 on their scale. nice digital scale, made me want one. my scale at home says 170, not that it matters much. goal is 7.5% body weight, at 1.5%/month, to end of year. so I should weigh 173 on their scale by end of August.

Snack--rice cakes, way too many. white wine.
Dinner--salad w blue cheese dressing, pizza. red wine. 2 oreos.
not a good food day, made a number of bad choices. not sure why exactly . . . felt kind of bored and out of sorts. resolve for a better week coming up!

July 23 - Day 13
Breakfast--spinach and bacon egg souffle. coffee
snack--rice crackers w Laughing Cow light spreadable cheese.
lunch/dinner--fish dinner from Chef by request. white wine. 1 piece bread w margarine. 2 oreo cookies.
kind of combined lunch and dinner and did not eat at ballpark which was good. would have been better w/o the bread or cookies (obviously). and the crackers/cheese . . .
almost half way thru the 30 day challenge. have lost 1 or 2 lbs I think.

July 22--day 12
Breakfast--plain yogurt with raisins, fruit. coffee
lunch--salmon with tomatoes, corn. 2 pieces of bread, butter. really good bread at Cosmo Cafe.
afternoon work treat--ice cream with choc sauce. I should learn to decline these things but feels like group pressure to partake.
dinner--2 corn fritters. 3 pieces pizza with figs, arugula. a few bites of ice cream. red wine. water.
actually a better water day.
joining a weight loss challenge at work. structured to be 1.5% of body weight lost monthly to end of year. pay $ if not hitting monthly checkpoints. seems like a good plan.

Lunch- 1/2 chicken salad sandwich w tomato. coke zero.
Dinner--salad. chicken dinner from Chef by request. 1 glass white wine. 1 piece of bread w margarine.
generally a better day than the day before, although not perfect.

July 20th - day 10.
Breakfast--yogurt and fruit, mainly pineapple.
Lunch--beef and brocolli dish, some rice, some asparagus. mostly overcooked and mushy, threw about half away. coke zero. water.
Dinner--a very large cosmo, crackers with weight watchers soft cheese, Chef by Request chicken dinner. ice cream. water.
had a horrible work day, worst in recent memory. interesting, though not really new news, to see how that prompted me to want to come home and soothe myself with what I could find 'bad' to eat. today is another day, see if I can do better.

Breakfast - yogurt w strawberries, banana. Coffee
Lunch - Thai curry soup w shrimp, oyster crackers. Coke zero. water.
Dinner (before show) - 1 piece of bread w butter; beet and goat cheese salad; salmon with quinoa and brussel sprouts; 3 bites carrot cake; 1 glass white wine. water.
pretty good day food wise. drank some water but definitely should drink more.

July 17th - Day 7 and end of week 1.
Breakfast- Go Lean cereal with almond milk. banana. Water
no lunch. glass of red wine at reception.
Dinner out - chips and salsa; veggie taquitos (2) w pico de gallo; jicama, piece of pineapple; (3) fish tacos, small; ~ 4 spoonfuls of ice cream. 2 (!) margaritas.
well . . . reflecting back on the week, lots of exceptions particularly at dinner and involving alcohol. Also need to focus on drinking more water, some days are pretty light. on to week 2.
