Breakfast: Handful of blueberries and half an apple. (wasn't super hungry this morning)
Runch: Business lunch at Pete's Tavern. Bunless burger, lettuce and onions w/salad. Ate half a pickle before I realized it was pickled, and not paleo. Salad was already lightly vinagaretted; only ate about half.
Snack: Tangerine
Dinner: 4 eggs and 1 banana scrambled with a bit of flaxseed oil.
Snack: Pear
note: have to limit/drop dried fruit. i already know i'm eating too much of it.
note: persistent headache starting around noon going strong at 10pm.
Breakfast: Banana, Date Walnut Roll, Handful of nuts-raisin mix, 2 eggs.
Runch: Cobb salad minus corn and blue cheese dressing. Dollop of olive oil as dressing. Decided to leave the bacon bits in.
Dinner Attempt 1: Looked up how to fry up some eggplant with spices. Threw in a tomato to boot. It was a disaster. The eggplant was terrible. The tomato was mush. Chucked the few test slices of eggplant. Had a date walnut roll and a handful of nuts-raisin mix.
Out: Apparently House of Shields is closing in April so a few friends wanted to go have drinks there. I substituted my usual Sapphire and Tonic or two with one Diet Coke. I realize cavemen may not have had diet coke.
Dinner 2: Whole foods spinach salad with a tiny bit of everything (raisin, cranberry, turkey cube, walnut) with some indian chicken stuffs that i forget the name of. The chicken's label's ingredients were all paleo, but it was salty as hell. Perhaps salt isn't always labeled. Also 8 oz coconut milk.
2010.01.20 Paleo is harder than I initially thought
Sleep: 5.5 hours.
Daily coffee intake: 2 cups
Breakfast: Leftover Pla-yang, handful of nuts-raisin mix, whole mango.
Lunch: Lunch meeting. Pizza everywhere. Super good-tasty-looking goat hill pizza. Instead I had a small plate of the shatty salad that comes with pizza. Pickled jalapenos and limp lettuce. Yum.
Later afternoon: Same salad as yesterday minus avocado and egg. Found out that the binding of imitation crab is super not-paleo. That's why it tastes so sweet. Also, while the sun dried tomatoes in olive oil are tasty and provide salad seasoning, I think it's probably a little too heavy on the oil. Felt tired after lunch. First meal in 4 days after which I've felt tired. Too much food bad food?
After workout: date walnut roll. Cup of orange juice. 2 Handfulls of nuts-raisin mix. Lots of water.
2010.01.19 Ordered "The Paleo Diet" from Amazon 2-day shipping
Daily coffee intake: 3 cups
Breakfast: Handfull of dry fruit and nut mix, 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch: Large salad from bayside deli: spinach base, dried tomatos in (hopefully) olive oil, fake crab, little bit of chicken, half an egg, spoonful of raisins, avocado, and jalapenos. Big 20 oz of coconut milk with pulp. (awesome salad, tasted too good to be acceptable)
Dinner: Pla-yang from Cha'am. 1/2 whole fish and mixed veg. (Fish sauce tasted vinegary but my personal health-o-meter rated it ok for the evening. Will avoid in the future, but very tasty.)
Dessert: Date-Walnut Roll 100cal, 2 handfulls of grape/nutes mix.
