An interesting event to train for (October)

I vote we do Saturday.

Looks like we’ll have more than 5, and might even have more than 10.  Ty, what size team did you register us as?

This looks like a blast! I would very much like to be a part of it and I’m ready to sign up. But we need to get some clear answers on a couple of questions beforehand. I see our team listed as LaLanne Fitness under the drop-down menu.
(1) Saturday or Sunday?
(2) Team members—our discount depends on the number of participants. I’m betting we can get 11+ of our peeps to sign up, but this affects the category sign up choice.

BTW—I’m counting on you guys if I sign up for this. Some of these obstacles are pretty daunting.

Great suggestions by mbhide.  How about we finalize a team by the end of next week so that we can register and figure out if we’re going to try to raise funds for Wounded Warrior as well? 

LaLanne’s Lunatics sounds good- any other ones?

Ok, if we’re serious about doing this, we should agree on a couple things first:

1) we’re registering as a team, right?  If so, what’s our team name (and we can be more creative that “LaLanne Fitness”... even “LaLanne’s Lunatics” would be better)
2) do we want to also commit to the charity part where we each raise $150 for wounded warrior?

As for training, I think above and beyond stamina workouts, we should add trail running.  Running off-road is very different from running on-road.  Maybe one Saturday a month we all head up to Marin and do some trail workouts?

I think I’m going to approach training for this by adding 2 extra days of stamina building workouts- 1 day of crossfit endurace (crossfitendurance.com) and their track interval workouts and one day of a long mountain bike trail ride- I think the 2 days of CF and 1 day of strength work that I already do combined with the additional stamina work should produce needed results. 

How are you guys looking to approach this?

Just heard about the race last night and natalie told me that you were putting something together for it. it’ll be great to train and have a lalanne team up there for the race. im in! just let me know the details…
